Process Automation Senior Manager Basildon, Essex

An exciting opportunity to join the growing process automation team designing and delivering solutions using innovative technologies such as RPA and AI and in order to add true business value. This role provides an excellent opportunity to learn more about all of our business processes whilst also giving you direct contact with our clients as we work with them to deliver change. Past deliveries by the team have supported key CASS initiatives (SDBS, NNAB, R7077, automation of manual receipting) and process quality improvement (Money Out processing)

The role:

You will manage and oversee the Operational Automation team, formulating short and medium term strategic plans in line with Corporate vision for efficiency and security.

Leading a team of individual contributors working collaboratively as part of an Agile team to design, develop and deploy, solutions across the business unit to help drive operational efficiency and quality targets.

These would include but not limited to;

  • EUC solutions
  • Process reengineering, utilising LEAN / Six Sigma and Digital first design thinking
  • Process automation via RPA, AI and other technologies. An understanding of the difference between RPA and AI, and being able to help identify the best use case for each


  • Experience leading multiple or diverse high performing teams
  • Degree or equivalent, or proven practical experience in a similar role considered
  • Project management experience or management of change experience
  • Business process review experience
  • Experience leading and facilitating workshops / focus groups
  • Experience of stakeholder management with all levels of staff
  • Excellent planning, organisational and reporting skills
  • Track record of taking a pragmatic and innovative approach
  • Experience building business cases and providing concise cost/benefit analysis


  • Experience within the Asset Management, Wealth Management and/or Pension industry
  • Good understanding of the UK collective investment market
  • Knowledge of Third Party administration of collective investments
  • Cross border funds/operations experience/knowledge
  • Knowledge of project management frameworks and methodologies
  • Customer Service experience
  • Experience of Lean/Six Sigma project identification and delivery
  • Experience working on Agile projects
  • Experience with RPA platforms
  • Experience with AI including but not limited to;
    • the use and benefits of machine learning models within an operations setting
    • usage for image recognition and processing over OCR/ICR
    • Usage of NLP to drive process automation
  • Experience with business process modelling notation (BPMN)
