Technical Services is responsible for the monitoring, maintenance and support of Advent Solution deployed at a client and tasked with meeting client expectation according to the service description which is created as part collaborative process between the associate and the client. This may include consulting, analysis, development and quality assurance.

This is a position for a Technical Associate as part of the back and middle office outsourcing team. The person needs to be experienced, capable and knowledgeable about back and middle office processing and able to work well with clients and team members in the office and in external locations. The role is to provide critical system monitoring and maintenance to Advent Software's EMEA & APAC financial services industry clients by ensuring the Advent solution is functioning as expected and processes are completing successfully. Following an extensive and formal training program, Technical Associate works closely with clients, Advent team members and other resources from within the company.

Main Responsibilities

  • Monitoring the servers and systems that reside on the servers to ensure they are functioning as expected.
  • Monitoring and maintenance of automation processing to ensure data and integrations have worked as expected
  • Create technical documentation on the environment and steps that are being managed.
  • Support already deployed solutions.
  • Train and learn on product changes and new technologies relevant for maintaining the current client deployment.
  • Project manage everything throughout the client engagement process.

Building on a candidate's strong client support and analytical skills, Advent provides training which covers the securities industry, PC, database and networking technologies, and Advent's portfolio management and reporting products.

The candidate will need experience of working effectively directly with clients, She or he will, therefore, need flexible, presentation and communication skills and be personable, persuasive and cooperative. The candidate should also demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills and enjoy a bit of detective work to break down and solve an issue.

Ideal Candidate

  • Strong IT/technical skills (MS Windows, Unix, Linux, MS SQL, MS IIS, integration tools, reporting tools, scheduling, networks and databases).
  • Strong problem solving & troubleshooting skills
  • Understanding & experience of financial instruments (stocks, bonds, funds, derivatives)
  • Project management skills; ability to manage and take ownership of all aspects of the implementation/upgrade from start to finish.
  • Experience with portfolio management systems is a great plus.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Always striving to improve the process and ultimately improve the client's experience.

Who we are

SS&C Advent Outsourcing Services (AOS) is currently providing Back and middle office outsourcing capability around our core software solutions. The group services a variety of clients with complex investment portfolios covering equities, bonds, repos, FX, exchange-traded derivatives and extensive OTC derivative books. The activities done include all lifecycle management following trade execution including trade capture, data enrichment, confirmations, trade export, reconciliations, valuations, payments and settlement, collateral management, client reporting, regulatory reporting, dealing with third parties (custodians, independent investment managers, market and performance. utilities, fund accountants, data providers, trade repositories, ARMs etc..), client-specific accounting and sometimes a wide range bespoke services.

Clients are located across Europe, Middle East and APAC and are often global in their investment servicing needs. Usually clients outsource to this team because their needs are particularly bespoke and challenging for example: they need to complete the daily reconciliation and system validations prior to portfolio managers coming online and this can mean a large volume of work that needs to be carried out prior to the start of normal working hours and as such they need a team comprises of a highly professional and experienced group with real-world expertise in the Advent core solutions. The services provided are done so using sophisticated software developed to meet client needs.
