Finance Systems Build Technical Specialist

  • Facilitate the implementation of all projects, system enhancements and process reviews for the CFD
  • Ensure the finance systems are fully optimised and fit for purpose, reviewing performance matrixes, trend analysis, identifying areas for improvement and implementing change
  • To liaise with both internal and external parties in regards to system support and development.
  • Compilation and analysis of system based information and MI, creating management summaries for the SM/HO at the agreed frequency as directed by SM/HO.
  • Own large complex projects, working with the project team on gathering of requirements, designing solutions, project governance all the way through to implementation and post live support. Delegating tasks / workstreams as required. Ensuring any new build details are documented, communicated and transitioned to the HD team.
  • Evaluate facts/data to consider impacts of possible solutions on the Client Finance division prior to implementation
  • Understanding of the underlying infrastructure and how systems link/connect/flow together and the impact this can have on new system initiatives and client deliverables.
  • Manage the integration of new processes and clients onto existing support model with minimal impact
  • Impact analysis on new process support to be fed into SM for FTE planning
  • Oversight of divisional initiatives / programmes of work and the impact of implementing and supporting recommended changes. Compilation of divisional initiative log from all business areas
  • Impact analysis on potential system upgrades
  • Implement best practice across all key users for utilising the system to its full potential as identified by root cause, buzz sessions and divisional initiatives.
  • Act as primary contact to senior divisional staff for support issues
  • Provide critical system updates to senior divisional staff
  • Support IT with the DR testing of all key systems
  • Review proposed solutions for complex issues, providing buy in where required based on root cause, impact and cost/benefit analysis
  • Act as an escalation point on complex issues
  • Maintain holistic view of all system implementations, being aware of downstream processes and the impacts a change may have including live support and projects.
  • Liaise with live support team to identify potential enhancements to current configuration as a result of the divisional initiatives
  • Work closely with project team to ensure that functional requirements are validated and sustainable.
  • Work with support team to improve blueprints to minimise fall out from new client take ones
  • Work with support team for handover of delivered functionality
  • Work closely with senior business members regarding enhancements, implementation and delivery, agreeing rollout plans in advance, provide regular updates on progress
  • Complete feasibility analysis into the available system functionality and cost / benefit of its implementation
  • Act as a project owner for business process reviews, recommending improvements, resolving issues, delegating the actual implementation to senior associates / technical experts whilst maintaining oversight
  • Provide training to the rest of the team on new processes and amendments to existing
  • Act as a project owner for complex builds and large projects within the System Solutions team with the changes of project related reconciliation system standing data and ensure adequate support for division related processes as part of this, included updates made as part of post live support to feed into subsequent projects
  • Provide post project implementation support to the business teams within Client Finance
  • Complete the required project reporting, highlighting and escalating issues, tracking resolutions, actions and risks.
  • Act as a point of contact for other DST teams in relation to new projects (where required)
  • Liaise with DST testing teams, ensure appropriate testing is completed, accurate output is received and reviewed by the business teams within Client Finance and provide feedback where applicable
  • System demos (Frontier, Xceptor, Bottomline, Infor)
  • Attend client sites for meetings as required
  • Act as referral point for senior associates and technical experts
  • Work with relevant areas in division to support Pseudo testing and accomplish resolution of issues.
  • Able to delegate project tasks to project support where appropriate
  • Able to own all types project with minimal guidance from peers
  • Manage workloads, escalating where necessary if deadlines are impacted in a timely manner
  • Voice concerns
  • Proactively work with line manager on resolution of issues / concerns
  • Able to work on confidential projects / issues without divulging information
  • Able to identify training requirements for junior team members
  • To exercise due care and diligence, ensuring the areas the role is responsible for are organised and controlled.
  • To uphold responsibilities for risk and business continuity practices as appropriate to the position the role holds within the organisation.
  • To comply with the regulatory regimes in which DST operates, with particular consideration given to relevant Client Asset, Data Protection and Financial Crime Prevention regulations, as appropriate to the above role.
