Application Process

What to expect when you apply

When you apply for a vacancy at DST you will receive an email confirming receipt within a few hours. We do receive a high volume of applications but we will try and keep you updated of the progress of your application at regular intervals (you can also view the progress by logging in to your job seeker's account). Once you have registered your CV with us it is also held on our database which we can use to search for other roles which fit your skills and requirements - so keep your DST Careers Centre profile as up to date as possible, even if you've applied for an apprenticeship with us.

Minimum entry requirement

Our minimum entry requirement is GCSE Maths and English Language Grade C or above for our early careers, OR demonstrable work experience relevant to the role you are applying for.

What to expect from the Recruitment Process

Once you have applied the recruitment process varies depending on the role. Candidates are assessed using a variety of methods and may include any of the following:

  • Aptitude Testing
  • Personality Questionnaire

Aptitude Testing

Aptitude tests measure your ability to acquire further knowledge or skills in a specific area. These tests can be paper or PC based and will assess some of the following areas:

  • Verbal Reasoning/Comprehension
  • Numeracy
  • Clerical checking/Attention to detail
  • Diagramming/Logic

  • Personality Questionnaire

The personality questionnaire is designed to assess your typical or preferred behaviour in the workplace. We would usually ask you to complete this online prior to attending a competency-based interview.
    • Practice Tests

We use Gartner for our aptitude and personality tests. To find our more about ability and aptitude testing or to do a practice test, please click here.
